Sustainability — Indonesia Luxury Yachts’s Environmental & Community Commitments

Sustainability & Community Impact

Our Pledge: Preserve, Protect, and Empower

The breathtaking beauty of the Indonesian archipelago is our greatest asset and our most important responsibility. At Indonesia Luxury Yachts, we believe that luxury tourism must be a force for good. Our sustainability policy is not an afterthought; it is woven into the fabric of our operations, from vessel selection to itinerary design. Our commitment is to ensure that our voyages not only provide unforgettable experiences for our guests but also contribute positively to the preservation of Indonesia’s natural ecosystems and the empowerment of its local communities.

Environmental Commitments: Protecting a Global Treasure

We operate in the heart of the Coral Triangle, a global epicenter of marine biodiversity. Our environmental initiatives are designed to minimize our footprint and actively support conservation.

  • Carbon & Fuel Responsibility: We are committed to mitigating our carbon footprint. We partner with a VERRA-certified carbon offsetting program to offset 100% of the calculated fuel consumption for every charter. Furthermore, we prioritize yachts with modern, fuel-efficient engines and encourage itineraries that maximize sailing time on our Phinisi fleet.
  • Active Marine Conservation Support: A portion of every charter fee is donated directly to our official conservation partners, including WWF Indonesia and The Nature Conservancy Indonesia. This funding supports tangible projects like marine protected area (MPA) patrols, coral reef restoration, and scientific research.
  • Zero Single-Use Plastics Onboard: We have a strict policy against single-use plastics. All our partner vessels are equipped with advanced water filtration systems, and guests are provided with reusable water bottles. All toiletries are supplied in refillable, biodegradable containers.
  • Reef-Safe Practices: We mandate and provide complimentary reef-safe sunscreen on all charters. Our crews are trained to brief guests on responsible interaction with marine life, including maintaining safe distances and practicing proper snorkeling and diving etiquette to prevent reef damage.

Community Commitments: Investing in People

True sustainability includes social and economic empowerment for the communities that call these islands home.

  • Prioritizing Local Employment: We mandate that a minimum of 85% of the crew on our partner vessels must be Indonesian nationals. We actively encourage our partners to hire and train individuals from the local communities in their primary operating areas, such as Labuan Bajo for Komodo and Sorong for Raja Ampat.
  • Supporting Local Economies: We design our itineraries to include respectful visits to local villages, where guests can purchase authentic, handmade crafts directly from artisans. We also prioritize provisioning with fresh produce, fish, and supplies from local markets, ensuring that tourism revenue directly benefits the local economy.
  • Community Development Fund: Through our parent, Juara Holding Group, we contribute to a dedicated community fund. This fund supports grassroots projects identified by community leaders, such as waste management infrastructure in villages near popular anchorages or providing educational supplies to schools in remote areas of the Maluku Islands.
